Christine shares about some of our prayer journey so far and her heart for prayer.
Prayer and action go hand in hand.
In these trying and challenging times there is much to be done and much to be prayed for.
At FBC, we exist to help people find and follow Jesus, and praying is a huge part of both of those.
As we pray, we respond to Jesus’ invitation to come to Him; to talk with Him as we share our hearts and needs with Him; to receive His peace, His strength and His provision. And then to go.
There are many different ways to pray and many different types of prayer. This guide focuses on what we call “prayers of intercession” - asking for God’s help on behalf of others. If you are not used to praying you may wish to read "New to Prayer" below.
Whether you are new to this or not, we invite you to join with us to pray. and know that we are part of a wider group of people praying about the same things.
You can choose when and for how long you wish to pray - 2 minutes, 2 hours or the whole day, every day for a week, or just now and then!
Each day will focus on a different area, have a short Bible verse and prayer, a short video to give us an update on how things are going at FBC, some things to be thankful for and some prayer pointers for our world, community, families and friends, and our church. We can, of course, include ourselves in those prayers.
As we come to Jesus and share our hearts and needs with Him, may we know His peace, His strength and His provision. And may many more come to know Him.
“I look up to the mountains;
does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.”
Psalm 121. 1-2 (The Message translation)
